I’ve never been to any general assembly or congress of political parties except during my study days where I attended PAS’s Muktamar twice. The ambience there was some kind of rendezvous where the party members looking forward to see their long time missing comrades. In particular, the atmosphere would be more flamboyant if the event was to elect their new leaders.
Today is the last day of the PKR’s national congress where the delegates gathered in the resort believed to be owned by one of it’s VP. Interestingly, the event which was supposed to highlight the party’s vision and policies that they are offering the people, turn to be a platform expressing their discontentment towards UMNO. The challenge brought forward by the head of AMK asking UMNO to amend the constitution strictly mentioning that the premiership must only in the hand of the Malay surprisingly, created controversy among them. Finally, it required the Ketua Umum to justify the statement given by his protege. Umm…what a waste of opportunity by having all the leaders from all over the country coming to refresh their vitality with the top leaders was demotivated by this UMNO bashing speech.
Next, I’m looking forward to watch the next drama in PWTC. Hopefully, this year assembly won’t be the ‘siaran ulangan’ of previous AGM where the clowns stole the stage and the reformist fought shy of expressing their mindful speech.
